Job Purpose
To provide financial administrative support to the business by managing day to day financial operations, including the accurate processing of invoices, payments and receipts, while maintaining up to date financial records and ledgers. The role is responsible for ensuring the timely reconciliation of bank statements, resolving discrepancies and supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports to aid effective decision making.
This position would particularly suit an individual with a background in construction or civil engineering environments, where experience of project based finance, subcontractor payments and high volume transactional processing is essential.
The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities and an understanding of the financial demands associated with fast paced, project-driven operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage day to day financial transactions, including invoices, payments and receipts
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable accurately and on time
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain and update financial records and ledgers
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
- Monitor cash flow and support budgeting activities
- Maintain organised filing systems for financial documents
- Handle data entry with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Liaise with suppliers, clients and internal departments regarding payments
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations
Key skills
- Ideal knowledge of SAGE 50 but not essential
- A proactive, confident and professional approach
