The Role
The Key Planner/Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and managing the efficient scheduling of testing, inspections and repairs across the UK. This role ensures seamless communication between clients, engineers, internal teams and external contractors to deliver planned activities on time and to a high standard.
Maintaining accurate scheduling records, supports the sourcing and ordering of materials and equipment and provides responsive assistance to engineers and stakeholders to address site based queries and adapt to changing requirements.
This role plays a key part to ensure operational efficiency, service quality and customer satisfaction.
Job duties
- Coordinate and manage the efficient scheduling of tests, inspections and repairs across the UK, working closely with clients and field engineers via email and telephone
- Ensure all appointments are accurately logged, updated and maintained within relevant IT systems to reflect real time status and availability
- Liaise proactively with internal departments and external contractors to plan and deliver scheduled activities within agreed timeframes
- Monitor progress, resolve scheduling conflicts and maintain accurate, up to date records to support operational visibility and reporting
- Source, organise and arrange the timely ordering of plant, equipment and materials where required
- Ensure all necessary resources are available in advance to support the safe and effective delivery of testing, repair and installation works relating to height safety and lightning protection systems
- Provide day to day support to engineers by responding to site based queries and challenges, offering practical solutions and coordinating with relevant stakeholders
- Effectively communicate any changes to schedules or unforeseen issues, ensuring minimal disruption to service delivery and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction
Key Skills
- Good organisational skills and able to manage multiple tasks at the same time
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work
- Comfortable using IT systems and Microsoft Office
- Self motivated and able to use own initiative
- Clear and confident communication skills
- Able to work independently and manage time well in a busy environment
